i always say i'll update this more regularly but time just never allows. and when it does, sitting at the computer is sometimes the last place i want to be.
i am 19 weeks along with baby V #2. on friday, we found out another girl is on the way! i'm very excited that mischa and newbaby (her name for now, we haven't agreed on anything yet) will get to have the same sisterly bond that my sister and i have. i am a little nervous to have two girls in high school at the same time though.
being pregnant with a toddler has been exhausting. my patience is shot. not just with mischa, with everyone and everything. basically, don't make me mad because my brain to mouth filter is broken at this point and i'll say whatever is on my mind.
being pregnant has been good to me so far. my body feels pregnant but i have no time to dwell on the woes of me. so it makes me forget about the bad stuff and time goes by a lot fast. i hope july gets here before i know it.
mischa, as always, is a wonderful little girl. she is very aware of what is going on around her and soaks up everything she can. in an effort to save my back during this pregnancy, we broke down the crib and got her a twin bed. she's very good about staying in it most of the time. and i actually like that when she wakes up in the middle of the night, she comes in our room instead of cries and cries for us to get her. although, last night, i heard her door open (mommy's ears are always on, even when she's asleep) and a little pitter patter down the hall. the opposite direction of our room. "mischa!" i called, "where are you going?" i heard her stop say "oh" and come back toward our room.
she's definately hitting the terrible two stage though. "no" is her favorite word even if she means yes. she's opinionated about what shoes she wants to wear and if she wants her jacket zipped up or not.
we've been working on potty training. we've had ups and downs. she seemed gung-ho about it a couple months ago but regressed for a little while. then all she wanted to do is play with her singing potty so that got put in the basement. going potty is serious business, no singing allowed. now i just kind of take cues from her. she's getting over a cold so once she's feeling back to normal, i'm going to work on it more. it's hard to be consistant because i work full time. i know daycare will help potty train her but i feel bad that i can't put my full attention toward it.
i suppose that's all from the vandyke household.
