33 weeks, long awaited update

31 weeks in utero.

29 weeks

31 weeks

we hit the 33 week mark tomorrow. 7 more weeks to go. 7 LOOOONNNNGGGGG weeks to go. i realized i haven't updated in quite a while so i'll try to recap.

i had an ultrasound a few weeks ago and the cyst on my ovary is gone. thank goodness! there are some issue involving my placenta. right now, it's location is very close to my cervix. i'll have another ultrasound in a couple of weeks and if it's in the same spot or moved closer, we'll have to schedule a c-section. because of where it is, it could cause a lot of bleeding during labor. which obviously, wouldn't be good. the placenta is also bipartite. which means it is two lobes connected by a bunch of membranes instead of one solid lobe. this isn't harmful to the baby now and doesn't mean that i was pregnant with twins at one point or anything. but because of how it's shaped, it could cause the baby to get stressed out during labor and her heart rate could drop. if that happens, then i'll have an emergency c-section (assuming that i didn't have to schedule one in the first place.) basically, at this point, i don't really care how they do it, i'd just like this child out of me. if i do need to schedule a c-section, ideally, i'd like to do it on march 17th. it is st. patrick's day and my dad's 50th birthday. what better present could i give him than a first grandchild?

i also had the gestational diabetes test and passed that with flying colors. my iron level is low though so i'm on an iron supplement.

a couple weeks ago, i started having some serious cramping issues in my uterus. i don't really know if they were braxton hicks contractions or what. they started at work on a friday and kept getting worse and worse. i took it easy that weekend and on monday, they started back up again. i called the doctor (which i should have done on the previous friday) and was told to go home and rest. i did. they went away but everytime i got up to get a drink of water or go to the bathroom, it would start back up again. the doctor checked me out and everything was okay. she said that it was "preterm uterine activitiy." basically the body's way of saying "slow down, lady!" she told me to go to part time work and make sure to take plenty of breaks and drink lots of water.

anyways, that's about it. we're just trucking along now. i've been getting the baby's room put together and my baby shower is on february 14th.
